Knowing from relative department, Changsha CPC committee and Changsha Government is aiming to make Changsha to be a provincial garden city in this year. Additionally, Changsha also tries to enter the team of national garden cities after one or two years hard work, after that, Changsha administration will apply for national ¡°residential environment awards¡±.

This year, Changsha has had a series of activity aiming at applying for provincial garden city title. It revises 1993 version¡¯s Changsha green area system plan, Yuelu Mountain Scenery area, and Hunan Martyr¡¯s park¡¯ s layout; meanwhile, Changsha has City Comprehensive Management activity, which is to replant and clip lots of flowers and shrubs and so on. According to introduction, Changsha¡¯ s virescence area has taken 32.63 percent of its total area, and the average public green area for each people is 6.74 square meters (Changsha has 1.50 million population). All these above fit the condition to apply for provincial garden city.
